Hoho, this one is actually infamous for me lol.

Central Intake is the one thing that kept coming up when I was told of homelessness resources.

How useful is it? The usual, or even the only response from my experience, is that there are no beds available.

But hold on, there’s an actual strategy for eventually getting a bed:

Call every two hours until there is an availability.

Um…

Those of us with ADHD have already failed before we even started.

I’ll list this resource as unhelpful mostly because of the sheer amount of dumb luck that needs to be on your side.

And don’t forget, other homeless folks are also calling in, using the exact same strategy.

In this light, it’s almost as if homelessness has become a dystopian competition.

 

Next: Let’s see if the walk-in will be any better.
